Summary from Goodreads: Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen, with no-fuss, no-commitment matchups and where the action on the job is steamier than any random hookup

Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.

Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post-hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.

What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower, courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against coworkers dating. And second, they’re now competing for the same job opening in the fall.

As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

top-shelf-250-x-275 Initial Thoughts and Rating:
4.5 stars!
Noelle August- pen name for the writing duo Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger- hits all the major marks in this fun, witty New Adult contemporary romance that had me laughing and loving this novel from beginning to end. I knew with almost absolute certainty that Rossi would deliver characters that would capture my interest and my heart after loving her Into the Never Sky young adult trilogy, but now author Lorin Oberweger is definitely on my radar as well. I look forward to seeing what more these authors have to offer as they continue to write together.

The Lowdown: Mia Galliano is the daughter of a famous photographer and an aspiring filmmaker in the last of her college years looking to make it big on her own name. Ethan Vance is a recent UCLA graduate with a mountain of college debt looking for a job to pay down his bills and to get him into law school. Two people from different worlds meet in a bar and after sharing public kisses, a crazy cab ride back to his place, and eventually his bed, wake up the next morning a little fuzzy on the details of the previous night’s events. But man, they have this electric kind of chemistry that makes them a little eager for more. This crazy coincidental meeting gets stranger by the minute when another shared cab ride, one greatly more innocent than the night before, lands them at the same building and on the same floor.

Welcome to Boomerang.com, a company acclaimed as the best up-and-coming online dating site, where people aren’t looking for Mister or Miss Right, they’re looking for Mr. or Ms. Right Now.  All that sounds great from the outside looking in, but for Ethan, Mia, and their potential for one sexy relationship, it spells trouble. Even if it wasn’t for the pesky company rule of no fraternizations between employees, they quickly learn that they’re both interns vying for the only available position at the end of their trial run.

So, while these two work for the same company and try to work out the finer details on the night they met, the only question left is whether or not they can deny themselves pleasure for the sake of business…

My Thoughts: This book was just pure fun, light-hearted and equally sexy entertainment. I picked it up to read right before bedtime and found myself finishing it in the super early morning hours because I simply couldn’t get enough of the building romance between Mia and Ethan. Told in alternating POV’s from both main characters, I want to congratulate these authors on a compelling storyline carried successfully by fantastic characterizations and engaging dialogue. I’m not sure whether a single author was responsible for one character or whether it was a joint effort from start to finish, which is wonderful because while each character had their own voice, the collectiveness of the entire book flowed effortlessly. The pacing never seemed to drag, and I found myself easily cocooned in the sizzling chemistry that surrounded Mia and Ethan, who had me caught somewhere between laughter and blushing throughout the whole book.

I also want to note how much I appreciated that this book wasn’t overly dramatic, nor did it drown me in angst. I began moving away from New Adult when I found that every book in the genre suddenly involved plot-lines centered around abuse of some form- emotional, physical, or sexual, and these author managed to write a really good novel without introducing any form of abuse as part of its story. So, thank you, a million times over, for letting new adult shine in just good ‘ole fun, lively characters, and excellent dialogue.

Swoons: There wasn’t an overabundance of in-your-face feels on the swoon meter, but Ethan delivered perfectly, especially when he was working with his young soccer team or fawning over Mia’s grandma. I really enjoyed him.

 Swoony Teaser:

“You feel incredible, Mia,” I say.
But the truth is she feels f*cking perfect.

Rec It? Oh yes I am! Smart, sexy, and all the things I missed about when the New Adult genre was new, this writing team really captures what it means to be a new adult with all the possibilities of love, life, and a new career in front of you. I can’t wait to see what more these two have in store for us; I want more now, please.

A very special thanks to William Morrow Paperbacks and Edelweiss for providing me with an early copy of this title in exchange for my honest thoughts.
